Our Vehicles

For your training and test we have two vehicles available. We have a volvo curtain-side rigid for class C driving, and 'Snowy'; a DAF XF95 Superspace cab 480HP 4 wheel artic tractor unit, to which we couple a 40' box trailer for your artic instruction and test.

At left is our Volvo FM7 rigid used for instruction of class III (class C). The Volvo has a 4 over 4 range change gear box and is a widely used work-horse truck found in all kinds of situations for pallet and parcel groupage work.

Below is 'Snowy' our DAF XF95 quite a looker and with a manual gearbox - 4 over 4 and range change to give us a 16 gears. Although most modern trucks' gearboxes are automatic it is useful to learn in a manual truck. And from 2014 although you will be able to take your HGV test in an automatic truck, you will still require a full licence (car or HGV class) taken using a manual gearbox.
